Cape Canaveral man recaptured at strip club

A handcuffed man slipped free from Brevard County sheriff’s deputies only to wind up getting recaptured at a strip club days later.

Marcus S. Dorsey, 29, is being held on a $6,000 bond at the county jail. He’s charged with escaping, possession of cocaine, petit theft, resisting arrest with violence, resisting without violence and domestic violence.

According to a Brevard County sheriff’s report:

Dorsey was arrested at his apartment at 200 International Drive around midnight Friday on a domestic violence call. He escaped while handcuffed.

Dorsey was found around 9:15 p.m. Sunday at the Inner Room Cabaret in Cocoa Beach. He was arrested after a brief struggle.

Police shooting outside NYC strip club

Police shot three young men who had just left a bachelor party at a strip club early Saturday, killing one man on the day of his wedding, according to police and witnesses. One of the survivors was in critical condition.

The shooting happened just after 4 a.m. near Club Kalua in Queens, said Officer Kathleen Price. She said there were no reports that any officers were wounded. As many as eight officers may have been involved, said Sgt. Mike Wysokowski, another department spokesman.

Water service nearly lost after closure of strip club

Mustang, TX - An unpaid bill nearly caused a supplier to shut off water service to an entire town.

Mustang’s 40 residents had faced the possibility of losing water service Monday if they didn’t find a way to pay a $3,400 bill. Someone made the payment, said Jay Mertz, president of the Angus Water Supply Corp., though he declined to identify the person, the Corsicana Daily Sun reported.

The tiny town, founded in 1972 to provide a home for alcohol sales in Navarro County, had been paying its water bill with sales tax money collected at the only two local businesses - a strip club and a bar.

But both businesses closed last year in the heat of a legal dispute stemming from the sale of the town...

Seattle councilman proposes new strip club rules

A plan that would disperse future strip clubs throughout Seattle, rather than limiting them to one area of the city, has been proposed by City Councilman Peter Steinbrueck.

Steinbrueck's proposal, released Tuesday, would mandate a buffer zone between the strip clubs and schools, licensed child-care centers, parks, and other strip clubs...

Detroit rejects Hustler strip club

Black Tail Shake Joint fined $26,250

Memphis - A strip club owner says the cops tried to strip his club of its beer license.

On Wednesday, undercover officers testified against the Black Tail Shake Joint on East Brooks Road. Authorities claim it draws prostitutes and other crime. Despite that testimony, the club is still up and running with its liquor license. However, owner Charles "Jerry" Westlund faces a hefty fine by the city.

The Memphis Alcohol Comission slapped Westlund with a $26,250 fine - but stopped short of taking its beer license away...

Strip club coming to Bedford Park

Two-year battle ends out of court

A Bedford Park strip club could open as early as next year after the village ended a two-year battle with a company that wants to open the adult-entertainment center and restaurant.

The club's operators must present their plans for the closed factory at 5555 W. 70th Place and apply for a liquor license, as would any other business, village officials said..

Nashville judge padlocking Club Platinum

Nashville cracked down on the adult entertainment Wednesday, as one club was padlocked, and others faced fines for violating metro ordinances.

Metro police padlocked Club Platinum following a judge's order for contempt of court. Metro's legal department says club owners did not get the right license, and so the club will be shut down until further notice.

Wednesday night, the city of Nashville cracked down on adult entertainment. It's not just two clubs closed up. A Metro board that regulates Nashville’s sexually-oriented businesses doled out fines of up to $500 to two other clubs and to dancers, for violating the city’s rules. Testimony from the Metro codes inspector described what he saw inside the clubs.

Boston - The Golden Banana may be reopening

Board conditionally reinstates liquor license for strip club

The state's Alcohol Beverages Control Commission says the notorious strip club in Peabody should be granted a new liquor license -- but only if it meets a number of conditions over the next six months.

The Golden Banana has been shut down since 2003. It originally closed because of safety violations that turned up after the deadly nightclub fire in Rhode Island.
